jakesbeard lol  I see where your going with this.  grin  Illinois gun season is only a week.  that and only a couple buck tags as opposed to NJ 6 makes for a recipe for mature deer like this.

I believe their is an 8 point from Alliance Ohio that will beat this buck . it was supposedly scored at 186 2/8 waiting on official score

Yeah but they claimed it netted 183 not grossed.  There was one that was poached and confiscated a couple years ago that I believe scored 186 and change as an 8.  If it wasn't poached it would have been a record 8.

Yup thats the one I was referring to.  The info I got on it was that it grossed 192 and netted 186 and change.  That article says 188, either way thats a hell of an 8.  Too bad it was poached.
