I ordered one from Cabelas. It works great, just follow the instructions. The test site needs to be a mud consistency, so bring the meter, a small shovel and some water(rainwater is best). Dig a hole about 6" deep, add water and mix it till it is like wet mud and stick the prob in. Try a few different times in the same hole and a few holes around the plot. Then take a average of all readings and this tells you the PH.Hope this helped...good luck __________________ Member FMBA local 21

Your much beter off getting a soil sample done...Either by the Whitetail INS. or go through the County AG extension...You get much more usfull information other then just the PH __________________ SSG Burke

Much better than the home test methods. __________________ "Hunters across America must wake up to the awareness that they stand a good chance of losing their sport because of their own inaction and lassitude." How much do they charge for the soil tests? __________________ Perserve the future of a QUALITY bowhunt in NJ - Keep the crossbows out of the archery seasons.
