NJ Hunter / New Jersey Small Game & Waterfowl Hunting / Waterfowl / Two birds I don't know

OK, was out the other day checking out the WMAs down here and I stumbled across two birds at Great Bay Blvd. WMA that I had no idea what they were. I've looked on Ducks Unlmtd. and some other websites, as well as in waterfowl books I have with no luck, I'll post descriptions here and any ideas would be appreciated.
1.) Small, white underbelly, brown wings, black and white neck rings, and a white face
2.) Goose-looking birds, pretty big, black head and neck, black tail, white under-tail, light brown body
Any info would be a big help. I may just be having a mental lapse (or I'm an idiot) but I can't find anything about these birds. Thanks in advance!

I thought that was a possibility, the 2nd oone on the list was most likely a Brant. I've looked at a few more pics from the web and that's pretty much what I saw....the 1st bird may just be a shorebird, not a duck or goose....not sure though
