Not a problem, I just had a turkey brought in for mounting.

hey rich... i know there are many ways to flesh/preserve turkey skins, what is your method? (if you dont mind me asking)

do u soak in acetone? mineral spirits? gasoline?

have you tried fleshing with a power washer? (thats how i fleshed the turkey i mounted....got great results..way better than a wire wheel, just need to be extra careful....)

"I know you been forgetting, cause I've been telling you for w"eeks to post the pictures, your getting old & senile"

I knew you would see that BHC- Man work is so busy and I am shot by the time I get home- I barely have time to see my little boy and hang out before I am sleeping and doing it all over again - I promise to get them and post them

I use a comercial bird flesher (big wire wheel) then I cut the grease with hot water, then wash it in dawn 3-4 times, then wash it in kemol degreaser, then rinse, tumble dry with borax, corn cob and saw dust. Then blow dry and mount. There are other things that I do but that is the basic's.

the judge at the PA taxidermy show did a seminar on turkeys and he reccomended getting rid of tumblers.. he said if you hand tumble gently you will run into less problems with split ends.. saves alot of time and you wont have to steam the feathers to get them to go back together once the bird is mounted.... try it if you'd like.. i tumbled my turkey and ended up steaming it over and over til finally the feathers went back together... next time im just gonnna hand tumble.

Almost all my birds are hand tumbled, but my tumbler is the size where the turkey will stay length wise and not get banged up,I have never had to steam any birds. Thanks for the info tho. I answered the question very vague so I didn't have to get into all the little things we do with the process.Stop in some time.

You need a permit for one to be done. These were done for parks and museums. Cost $500.00

Are you saying you will mount three fawns?? Good luck to you, get good reference, my two mounts above are mounted on wrapped bodies made of excelsior.
